Our Little Steps preschool program strives to empower our children to become mighty learners through play. We present a high quality, developmentally appropriate program to create a happy 'learn through play' environment that stimulates a child's natural curiosity, growth and development. We offer a wide range of materials and activities, along with a safe setting where children develop relationships which foster security and self-confidence.
We offer a 3 year old program one morning a week and also a 4 year old program which runs two mornings, or two afternoons a week.
Both classes will be included in appropriate school-wide assemblies and/or special events which include a modified Terry Fox Run, Reading Buddies and some school presentations.
It is important to mention that our Four Year Olds participate in a writing readiness program called Handwriting Without Tears. All elementary students at Blessed Sacrament School follow components of this program. Our preschool uses the writing and counting introduction component to prepare the children for Kindergarten. Specific strands of their programming coincide with our Kindergarten.
